Senior Manager, Annuity Product Management

The Role
Based in Boston, the Senior Manager of Annuity Product Management is a key member of the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance (FILI) growing product team, supporting the management and enhancement of the annuity product line-up to deliver value to Fidelity customers. This role focuses on in-market product management and execution, while supporting on-going product development initiatives. The Senior Manager partners closely with Directors of Product Management, cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure effective day-to-day product management and drive key enhancement initiatives. The role helps ensure products remain competitive, well-positioned, and aligned with customer needs and business objectives. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge in individual fixed and variable annuity products.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manage Existing Products:
Maintain detailed product specifications and collateral in collaboration with product actuaries, compliance, technology and cross-functional teams
Review contracts, riders, and prospectus language for consistency with product specifications
Partner with Operations, Actuarial, Compliance etc. on maintenance of annuity forms
Work closely with Director of Product Management to deliver quarterly product update on annuity products to deliver market and product insights that help inform strategic decisions
Partner with Director of Product Management on annuity pricing rate submission in various systems, in collaboration with FILI actuarial team and reinsurance partners
Maintain and support quarterly performance reporting
Maintain and publish rate and sales tracking reports and analysis
Manage relationships with external vendors on tool access and updates, contract approval and processing
Review and maintain product training materials
Partner with distribution to ensure alignment of product value proposition, methodology development, and planning / tools integration
Address and resolve product-related inquiries from cross-functional stakeholders across Fidelity to support alignment and execution
Enhancing Existing Products:
Participate in product enhancement discussions by partnering with cross-functional teams including but not limited to distribution, actuarial, legal, compliance, operations, technology, risk, finance
Coordinate and manage product enhancement strategic initiatives across cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution, including potential new fund additions to variable annuities and product feature updates, etc.
Collaborate with distribution to update training and marketing materials for new product enhancement
Support product training to customer facing advisors, if needed
Contribute to other product related initiatives:
Participate in the development of innovative product offerings for FILI’s product roadmap by contributing annuity product expertise, customer perspectives, and industry market insights
Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Fidelity insurance-related initiatives
Contribute to market intelligence by assessing industry landscape, trends, and customer needs
Collaborate with diverse teams across Fidelity to support a variety of insurance related projects
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of proven annuity and insurance experience, including developing, launching and managing annuity products
Deep product expertise in the annuities space
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across different levels
Strong project management skills with experience influencing cross functional groups without authority
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Strong critical thinking and decision-making leveraging data driven insights
Knowledge of financial services products, and the role of annuities in retirement planning
Foundational understanding of annuity products; familiarity with annuity mechanics, riders, taxation, suitability rules, etc.
Self-starter - able to assess what work needs to be completed and how to get it done
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships as you work collaboratively across teams
Expert in Microsoft Excel and strong user of other Microsoft products
Experience with Life insurance and group annuity is a plus
This role does not currently require FINRA registrations/licenses, however if a candidate already has FINRA registrations/licenses some may be maintained as 'permitted' in accordance with the Fidelity Licensing and Registration Policy

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
