The Role

Fidelity's Associate IT organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to help transform how enterprise platforms are engineered, automated, secured, and operated at scale.

We are a modern engineering organization focused on applying software engineering principles to infrastructure. Our team leverages automation, APIs, cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted engineering tools to reduce operational complexity, improve reliability, and create highly scalable platforms that support Fidelity associates worldwide.

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving infrastructure problems through code, automation, and platform engineering. The ideal candidate combines strong development skills with infrastructure knowledge and is passionate about eliminating manual processes, building self-service capabilities, and creating resilient, low-touch operational models.

In this role, you'll partner with Product Owners, Architects, Security teams, and fellow Engineers to design, build, automate, and continuously improve critical enterprise platforms supporting thousands of users across the organization.

• Design, build, and support scalable enterprise infrastructure and cloud-based platforms.
• Develop automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
• Build self-service, orchestration, and self-remediation capabilities using modern engineering practices.
• Integrate systems and platforms using APIs, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, and operational readiness through automation and engineering excellence.
• Partner with security and operations teams to implement scalable, secure, and compliant platform solutions.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity practices across critical services.
• Continuously modernize infrastructure through automation, standardization, and platform engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, automation, and operational workflows.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming and automation skills using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Go, Java, or similar.
• Experience developing solutions that integrate with REST APIs and enterprise platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation and orchestration solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure concepts, including compute, networking, storage, operating systems, identity, and security.
• Experience identifying operational challenges and building scalable engineering solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for automation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience supporting end-user computing (EUC), virtual desktop, or digital workspace technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix, VMware Horizon, Omnissa Workspace ONE, or similar platforms.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
