The Role

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to support complex, large-scale brokerage trading systems within the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). This role involves close collaboration with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are critical for success in this position. The ideal candidate shows a focus on achieving goals, with a proactive approach to driving outcomes through clear, consistent communication with leadership and cross-functional teams.

The candidate must be able to effectively convey information to diverse audiences, translating between technical and business perspectives as needed. Equally important is the ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries—both within FCAT and across partner organizations—by building and sustaining strong, productive relationships.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Proficient in conducting business analysis, writing requirements, designing, maintaining dynamic solutions and translating strategic objectives into action.

  • Collaborates with database and solution architects to develop new solutions, creating relevant artifacts to deliver a functional specification, while conducting data mapping and data modeling exercise of new requirements

  • Possesses transferable expertise in post trade lifecycle for Equity, Derivatives, digital asset products.

  • Holds strong understanding of equity trading, options, bookkeeping, tax systems and designs systematic flows of a trading lifecycle.

  • Possesses knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Proficient in defining user stories to successfully complete define-build-test cycles.

  • Participates in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions.

  • Proficient using Confluence and JIRA

  • Demonstrates ability to translate business requirements, prioritize delivery, think strategically, and accept technical direction.

  • Maintains strong technical interest in financial services and exhibits skill in researching and learning new technologies.

  • Has experience working with geographically distributed teams.

  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Is motivated, self-directed, and results oriented.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Computer Science/Engineering.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $66,000-125,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
