This role is a REMOTE job, but does require you to currently live within 90 miles of the Greater Los Angeles, CA area.

The Role

As a Retirement Planner within Fidelity’s Tax-Exempt Market Planning & Advice (TEMPA) team, you will educate and support workplace retirement plan participants by increasing awareness of retirement readiness and helping individuals take meaningful steps toward achieving their long-term financial goals. This role is responsible for guiding participants through their employer-sponsored retirement plans, including educating them on plan benefits, employer matching contributions, and investment strategies, while helping them make informed decisions about their retirement savings. The Retirement Planner conducts needs-based conversations to identify participant goals, uncover opportunities for retirement asset consolidation, and identify appropriate solutions that support overall retirement objectives. By providing personalized guidance and collaborating with other members of the TEMPA team when more complex planning needs arise, you will play a critical role in enhancing participant outcomes, building customer loyalty, and strengthening long-term relationships with Fidelity.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in investment sales, financial planning, or a related advisory role
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses preferred; Series 7 and 63 required, with the ability to obtain the Series 65 or 66 within 90 days of hire
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, economic conditions, and industry trends
  • Excellent consultative, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to build trust and drive client engagement
  • Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to identifying client needs and opportunities
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Openness to coaching, performance feedback, and adapting to evolving business needs and priorities
  • Ability to effectively leverage planning tools and resources to help participants assess and improve their retirement readiness
  • Proven ability to conduct needs-based conversations, identify appropriate solutions, and support asset acquisition, retention, and growth
  • Strong ability to articulate Fidelity's approach and vision to provide general investment education to clients

Our mission is to serve as a trusted partner for plan sponsors and participants, providing education and financial planning and advice for our 403b and 457 plan participants. Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000-$85,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
