The Role

The VP, US Acquisitions will partner with the Head of Investments and US Regional Leaders to execute on a plan to acquire multi-family real estate in the US. This will include sourcing the opportunity, managing the underwriting, negotiating with the seller, presenting the opportunity to investment committee, running the due diligence process, closing the transaction, partnering with the Head of Debt Capital Markets on the financing process, and supporting the transition to asset management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source real estate investment opportunities that meet portfolio criteria across target markets through existing network, owner or broker relationships

  • Build and maintain appropriate pipeline of opportunities

  • Review and underwrite proposed opportunities

  • Negotiate and structure real estate acquisitions

  • Prepare analysis of opportunity and materials for investment committee approval; present opportunities to committee for approval

  • Review and approve legal, operational, environmental, engineering and appraisal reports created as part of the due diligence process

  • Flag and escalate issues found during due diligence and recommend how to resolve or address

  • Assume asset management responsibilities for initial acquisitions while transitioning to the asset management team.

  • Share insights and market intelligence with US asset management and investment teams

  • Manage and develop investment analysts and associates

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 15 plus years work experience, 13 plus years with an MBA or equivalent, in commercial real estate required; majority within investment roles

  • Strong professional relationships throughout the US real estate industry

  • Recent relevant investment experience in US commercial real estate across various asset classes; Asset Management experience a plus

  • Strong writing and presentation abilities

  • Ability to evaluate real estate and real estate markets

  • Critical thinker that can analyze an opportunity and make a quick decision

  • Collaborative, results driven leader

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $130,000-$264,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
