The Role

You will work closely with the Global Head of Private Equity Investments as well as Fidelity’s Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts in recommending and implementing mid-to-late-stage Venture Growth investments within the semiconductor and technology hardware sectors on behalf of Fidelity funds and the dedicated Venture Growth strategies and products. You will collaborate closely with Founders/CEOs/CFOs/Board Members, with other venture capital investors, and with other thought leaders in your network to source investment ideas. You will lead the diligence and investment recommendations for private companies within the semiconductor and technology hardware sectors. We are looking for someone to join our team in either Boston, MA or San Francisco, CA.

The Value You Deliver

  • Build relationships with Entrepreneurs/Founders/CEOs, other Venture Capital investors and with other counterparts to ensure continued pipeline of opportunities for the Fidelity Funds and Fidelity Venture Growth strategies

  • Perform deep due diligence and recommendations of investment opportunities, including financial modeling and valuation analysis

  • Develop deep partnerships with Fidelity’s investment teams, including building trust with Fidelity Portfolio Managers who invest in private companies and collaboration with public side Research Analysts in evaluating private investment ideas

  • Maintain positive relationships with our portfolio companies and serve as a trusted partner and occasionally Board Observer

  • Review of terms of each venture capital investment you are leading, collaborating closely with legal on documentation, and ongoing maintenance and information flow for Fair Value purposes

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Experience investing in or analyzing private or public equity securities in the semiconductor/technology hardware sectors is a pre-requisite, with a preference for growth equity or venture capital experience

  • Exhibit strong analytical and communication skills, coupled with the highest level of personal and professional integrity

  • Demonstrate the confidence and the maturity to engage with internal and external partners such as Company Founders and Board Members as well as Venture Capital and Strategic investors

  • Intellectually curious about the private company / venture capital ecosystem and very high levels of initiative and motivation

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
